Add your 1.5 cups of water into the saucepan.
Add your 8 oz. of butter or oil into the saucepan.
Turn on stovetop to a very low heat, for a light simmer want to avoid any burning.
Add your ground up decarbed cannabis into the butter and water liquid.
Make sure temperature does not go over 180°F with your thermometer.
Stir every 30 minutes.
Instead of stovetop option you can place in a slow cooker instead on the lowest setting. (Still stir every 30 minutes.)
After 4 hours of simmering, strain with cheesecloth or strainer.
Pour into mason jar or other container immediately, let cool to room temperature.
Once cool, use immediately or store in refrigerator (or freezer). (Can store for up to 6 months.)
